Volunteers at Community Nurse Health Center (CNHC) are very important and their contribution cannot be overstated. Over 300 volunteers support the mission of CNHC on a regular basis serving in administrative and clinical support positions as well as in “The Community Shop”, a specialty resale and collectible shop located in the Central Business District of Downtown La Grange, Illinois.

In our last fiscal year, volunteers clocked 15,500 hours, which translated into over $374,000 in savings on salaries, making it possible for CNHC to provide medical, dental, and behavioral health services to over 4,700 residents of the near western Chicago suburbs.

When you volunteer and give of your time and talent, you get the chance to change lives. There’s no greater feeling! Community Nurse Health Center is grateful to our volunteers who change lives every day through their volunteer service.

Community Nurse is looking for people to join our Volunteer Services Program who are looking to align themselves with a mission to enhance the lives of persons in the communities we serve. If you are looking to enhance YOUR life through the satisfaction of being that person whose work means that one more child can receive their vaccination or that a homeless person can receive medical and mental health treatment, then Community Nurse Health Center is for you.

We have (3) specific volunteer areas you can choose from:

We’re so grateful to those who give of their time and talent to support the work of Community Nurse Health Center. Each spring, CNHC hosts its annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon to recognize years of service, volunteer of the year, “Heart of Community Nurse” award, and much more. Gifts and prizes are given – completely provided and underwritten by generous donors to CNHC who recognize the significant impact volunteerism has on our organization.
